    - The purpose of this research, professional development activities for teachers to determine their attitudes. To achieve the purpose of the research for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), which serves 448 high school teachers were selected within the boundaries. The results obtained from this study, the effectiveness of teachers' professional development activities to show that they are unstable. In addition, teachers' gender, age and duration of the service creates a significant difference in their attitude towards the professional development activities. The results show that obtained more positive attitudes towards women teachers in professional development activities. In addition, teachers who are younger and less service time for professional development activities also shows that in more positive attitudes. (C) 2011 Published by Elsevier Ltd.
