- This chapter is about the PIC18F series of microcontrollers. The PIC18F2410 microcontroller is considered as a typical microcontroller in the PIC18F series. The program memory and data memory structures are described in detail. The power supply requirements are important as they provide the minimum and maximum power supply voltage levels. These are given in the chapter. The PIC18F2410 microcontroller can be operated in 10 different clock modes and these modes are explained in detail. The parallel I/O port architecture is described with reference to the port registers. Timers are important modules in all microcontroller systems. The chapter described the structure and operation of all timers of the PIC18F2410 microcontroller. The operation of the A/D converter is explained and the steps required for a typical conversion are given. Finally, the external and timer interrupt structures, and the PWM module features of the PIC18F2410 microcontroller are given.
